Hello, there!
My name is Marlo Leone; I'm a multimedia journalist and radio producer who has worked in newsrooms across the country. I've been passionate about reporting since I first started doing the rush hour traffic reports for New Jersey's WSOU 89.5 FM in 2020. I graduated from the University of Southern California’s Journalism M.S. program in 2024 and have worked with newsrooms such as Asahi Shimbun America SF and Annenberg Radio News. As a journalist, I’ve produced everything from long-form multimedia pieces to breaking news coverage.Currently, I'm a freelance multimedia journalist focusing on print and audio news. Recently, I was in the 2026 summer session of The Climate Newsroom, which teaches journalists better ways to report on climate change stories, and took an investigative journalism course at Laney College in Oakland, CA. My goal as a journalist is always to promote truth and inform the public.I love learning about people and finding stories within local communities. I've uprooted myself several times over the years and made new homes across countries and continents. For my undergrad degree, I did a double major in Diplomacy & International Relations and Modern Languages at Seton Hall University in NJ. In undergrad, I took a five-month semester abroad in Buenos Aires, AR. I'm also a photographer, a writer and a former rugger. You can connect with me on LinkedIn and follow me on Instagram or on Bluesky. I also post articles weekly on Substack; check me out over there.Links to some of my published work are here.
